The Asheville Outlets project consisted of renovating an existing enclosed mall, formerly known as The Mall at Biltmore Square, into a new open-air outlet center. Eight individual retail buildings, totaling 370,000 square feet, houses approximately 78 new tenants.

The new mall features include a renovated food court, mall management offices, public restrooms, new kiosk locations, and plenty of outdoor open air environment. Dillard’s and Belk, the current anchor stores, are remained open during construction, along with the Dollar Tree store.

The skeleton structure of the old mall is being re-used in the 8 new buildings, and all interior, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, sprinkler, and roof construction were removed and brought to current code standards. Many of the materials that are removed were recycled, including steel, aluminum, concrete, copper, pumps and cast iron.  The project opened in May 2015.
