Upon its opening, Scaly, Slimy, Spectacular! became the premiere reptile and amphibian exhibit in the United States.

Featuring a state of the art 113,000 square-foot facility, including the main reptile complex (15,000 square feet), restroom facilities, theatre, Georgia river pond, and playground, the complex welcomed in some of the most endangered and rare reptile and amphibian species in the world.

The main reptile complex structure includes a unique exterior sloped curtain-wall glazing system with a custom frit pattern to allow for natural light to enhance the innate habitat for the exhibits. Interior exhibit elements include a system of custom murals, replicated rockwork, and life support systems specializing in ensuring the animals sustain a safe and natural habitat.
