Winter constructed the first phase of the 74,000 square-foot new high school building as a part of the new Glenn Upper School campus.

The building is a four-level, post-tension concrete structure, with brick veneer, architectural exposed steel, metal roof and aluminum windows.

The building houses spacious and naturally lit classrooms, science labs, art studios, choral and band rooms, a cafeteria, a gymnasium that also serves as a performance venue, art gallery space, and a media center that overlooks a beautiful wooded ravine.

The project was constructed in accordance with the LEED® rating system. Aspects of the project which incorporated LEED® standards include a thermally reflective roof, bamboo gymnasium floor, and a unique geothermal system to heat and cool the building.

The Upper School is one of nine projects that Winter has completed for the school. Winter’s repeat work for Mt. Vernon Presbyterian School is a testament to the client’s overall satisfaction.
