Winter completely renovated the existing 260,000 square-foot, 1970s-era South Atlanta High School. By working collaboratively with the design team, Winter’s project team was able to successfully overcome several unforeseen conditions. Creative value engineering allowed the project team to add major scope into the project, while maintaining the original construction budget. The base project was completed $2.3 million under Atlanta Public Schools’ budget. The new school houses multiple academic schools, and sitework included a new competition track and field, new parking lots and roads, and a new underground storm detention system.
