ATLANTA (January 27, 2014) – Winter Construction recently completed both the renovation of the Crowne Plaza in Greenville, South Carolina and the multi-phased renovation of the Sonesta Resort at Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. In addition, Winter is currently performing renovations of both the Hilton and the Sheraton Hotels in downtown Nashville, Tennessee.
Work on the Crowne Plaza was comprised of a complete renovation of all guest rooms, public spaces and meeting rooms, along with the fitness center and the indoor pool. Among these renovations was a striking redesign of the hotel’s image and décor − a Design/Build collaboration between Winter Construction, HC Architecture and Hamilton-Harris interior designers.
The main public area is upgraded with finishes that reflect current design trends and the revised layout improves functionality of the lobby bar/lounge. Opening up the main entry and registration areas and separating the indoor pool and pre-function areas greatly enhances guest’s first impression of the property.
The Sonesta Resort project included a renovation of all the interior public areas including the restaurant and kitchen, the exterior courtyard and event pavilion. Winter transformed the indoor pool into a covered pool open to the exterior and transformed the courtyard pool into a zero entry pool making it one of the resort’s most notable features.
Winter is nearing completion of the first phase of renovations to the Hilton in Nashville Tennessee, which includes a complete renovation of all guestrooms, the presidential suite, meeting spaces, a facelift to the exterior of the hotel, as well as the transformation of an existing indoor pool to a brand new Concierge Lounge and Fitness Center. The exterior work included the complete replacement of the existing 5,300 square foot skylight system with a new barrel vaulted skylight over the 12-story atrium. The hotel remained operational while all work was performed.
Winter also recently began work on the renovations to the Sheraton Hotel in Nashville, TN. This project includes a complete transformation of the main entrance and lobby. A focal point of the renovation will be the brand new monumental staircase and feature wall, which will “float” in front of the existing atrium elevators improving the overall flow and feel of the classic atrium lobby.
