(April 11, 2018) ATLANTA, GA – Winter Construction has been selected by RocaPoint Partners as the general contractor for the vertical state of Phase one of the HALCYON 135-acre mixed-use development in Forsyth County. The site is located on Big Creek Greenway off of Georgia 400 Exit 12 on McFarland Parkway.

Winter was selected for the project after more than a year and a half of preconstruction and planning efforts with RocaPoint. The client chose the Atlanta-headquartered general contractor based on its experience building a variety of mixed-use projects, retail, office space, and parking decks, and on its ability to provide competitive pricing thanks to its strong relationships with subcontractors.

“We are so pleased and honored to join the RocaPoint team, along with Wakefield Beasley, to build the vertical portion of Phase One of HALCYON,” said Brent Reid, CEO of Winter Construction. “We look forward to leading the vertical construction of the buildings and parking deck that are part of the transformative mixed-use development. Our retail, office, parking, and hardscape experience perfectly align with the vision for HALCYON, and we can’t wait to get started.”

RocaPoint Partners and New York-based The Georgetown Company make up the development team. JLL teams are managing leasing efforts for HALCYON, and JLL Southeast Central’s Project Development Services team is managing construction. Wakefield Beasley & Associates is the architect for the development. The project is scheduled to be complete in March 2019.
