The Aquatic Center will serve the City of Cumming and Forsyth County citizens for recreational use and will provide a competition venue for swim teams at all levels.
The Aquatic Center includes a 50-meter indoor competition pool, a 50-meter indoor therapy pool with zero entry, and an outdoor leisure pool with water slides, play structures, and outdoor cabana areas. Other areas of the building include mezzanine level spectator seating, community rooms, fitness areas, locker rooms, and concession areas.
The 45,000 square-foot building is a composite structure of pre-engineered metal building and structural steel. The building will have masonry veneer, metal roofing with clerestory windows, storefront, and canopies. Finishes include high-performance coatings, exposed concrete, hard tile, and resilient flooring.
The project is located on a 21-acre site. The sitework scope includes large underground detention systems on the Aquatic Center site and includes the sitework and building pad preparation for the adjacent Drivers Service Center. Additionally, the site includes nature areas and walking trails.
